I am not happy with the results and would like some more detailed advice on revision rhinoplasty

Q. I have had rhinoplasty before in 2001. I am not happy with the results and would like some more detailed advice on revision rhinoplasty. Do you perform revision rhinoplasty regularly? If so how often? Is it a successful procedure?,

A. Thank you for your enquiry. A revision rhinoplasty is a more demanding procedure than a primary rhinoplasty. The surgeon has to contend with the effects of a scarring from previous surgery as well as unsatisfied patient who is not happy with the results of the primary rhinoplasty. It is absolutely essential that you have a detailed consultation with a surgeon, other plastic surgeon or ENT surgeon who is qualified in udertaking primary and secondary rhinoplasty’s. Yes I do perform revision rhinoplasty regularly and would on an average I do 5- 8 revision rhinoplasty’s every year.I would say that revision rhinoplasty is a successful procedure but it would depend on what the patient expects to achieve after a secondary rhinoplasty and it is for this reason that a detailed consultation is absolutely essential.
